FAVOURITE PLACE

Sunda Kelapa, Jakarta

I think this is my favourite place to take a photograph. I've been here so many times and still wanna go there. Not because of its beauty, but I think it's the closest place that I can get . But everyone here in Jakarta, who love to take a photograph, must have been here, at least once .

This place built more than 500 years ago. This is where the history of the city began. The old port of Sunda Kelapa has been continually used for centuries and today, it still plays an important role for the local fishermen and for inter-island trade.

In particular, you can still find several Bugis phinisi schooners from South Sulawesi anchors by the wharf. These all-wooden tall-masted ships are still used to sail the seas between islands as they did centuries ago.
