very nice color in this photo and the sky is awsome, plus the contrast between the clean sky above and the dirty river and poor people bellow is very well captured

This image has so much personality that I couldn't delete it from my watch for days. I have looked at it for the last few days and can't stop wondering what the lives of the people in the shot must be like. The building and the clouds compliment each other nicely.

The color and composition are incredible. Definitely a :+fav:.

Excellent use of wide-angle, among the most striking I've ever seen.

Its magic is that it's hard to tell where the wide-angle distortions/composition ends and the real-world distortions begin. That is, is the rooftop so distorted as it seems? Are the service poles really lilting over? Are the horizons (both the near porch edges and the "skyline" behind) tilted?

The whole image has a "smeared over" effect. The clouds and boats contribute to this naturally, but it's especially keen because of the tops of the service poles all aiming rightward like they are. And then the subtle visual cue of the wind in the blanket adds to the implied chaos.

It's an image that defies us to believe that it's real - the mundane elements almost dare us to doubt them - and then it's encouraged even further by your own ambiguous location, as photographer and viewer, out in the water. The best shots are those that seem totally plausible but never seen before, so this one is definitely a winner.

i love the angle and the geometry created by the boats... i don't like colors very much, a monochrome house as background would rule more ;)
